Federal Communications Commissioners Jonathan Adelstein and Michael Copps will make a rare visit to Los Angeles on August 31 to listen to the public's concerns about localism and diversity in media. They will

be joined by Congresswomen Hilda Solis and Diane Watson for this Community Dialogue on Media Ownership - a timely opportunity for Angelenos to have their voices heard by key policymakers regarding media consolidation and its impacts on local communities.

The forum is taking place as the FCC prepares to review sweeping changes to the few remaining ownership limits that protect the public from a fully consolidated media landscape. The FCC recently issued an official query on whether the media ownership rules are "necessary in

the public interest as the result of competition." It is very

important that Angelenos participate at this event and be heard.

The Town-Hall Meeting is sponsored by the National Latino Media Council, in partnership with Media Alliance and Free Press.
