Avril, in power until 1990, had to contend with new revolts. His resignation opened the path to elections under international control and an apparent normalization of political life. Jean-Bertrand Aristide, a Catholic priest who had advocated for the poor, obtained a brilliant victory in December of 1990. Coups d’etat, forced exile and return to power were all part of the first Aristide term, who was succeeded by René Preval. Aristide returned to power democratically, and in 2004 a coup d’etat organized and covered by the US obligated him to resign. In this brief summary of the history of Haiti I omitted “small details” like the economic embargos, assassinations, persecutions, etcetera. Since 2004 the Haitian people have lived, anew, under old and new military occupations at the hands of the US, a country that to this day remains in military control with the collaboration (by omission or commission) of the UN and allied countries. This same North American occupation force is that which today controls the airport, impeding and/or delaying the arrival of aid for Haiti, as has been denounced by the government of France and an infinity of journalists and reporters in Port au Prince."

Willy Jerus, 35, president of the Samahan ng mga Magsasaka sa Sorsogon (Samasor), came under a barrage of fire from a .45 caliber pistol as he stepped out of his house at around 7:20 a.m.,Argarin said nine slugs were found at the scene but only five hit Jerus, who was the fifth official of a militant organization killed in the province amid the continued escalation of unsolved killings in the country.

Before you decide whether or not to believe a word I say, it might do well to consider that in the last five years, I have had some forty or so email accounts hacked to uselessness as well as half a dozen mailing lists. I have dealt with literally, many thousands of electronic attacks, from files disappearing from my home computer (key files researching Booz, Allen, & Hamilton) to an unending stream of attempts at depositing worms and viruses in my hardware, sometimes to the tune of several hundred in a week. When I broke the connection to remote piloting, or unmanned aerial vehicles, and Teslian physics, my sister's house burned to the ground and a week later, my brother's apartment caught fire. During this time, I have had two dogs poisoned, about a year apart.

Can you imagine Ms. Martin conducting an interview with Trent Lott, the last person on the planet to use Wild Root Cream Oil, or Joe Biden, and spending half the time on his hair? If "Nightline's" Martin had subjected a white male congressman to this kind of hostile sarcastic interview, sarcastic not only in words but in body language, to which she subjected Cynthia McKinney, Martin would have gotten the same treatment from her bosses that Connie Chung received when she interviewed Newt Gingrich's mom, who denounced Hillary Clinton as "a bitch". ...assigned to a Saturday morning show on MSNBC. Valley dingbat Hal Netkin ran a phone bank during the mayoral election that called voters with automated anti-Villaraigosa messages. He's obsessed with immigrants and the mayor-elect, and on his website calls Villaraigosa "the MECHista mayor who virtually takes his orders from Mexico City." So, no surprise, Netkin is the guy who was arrested last night in Orange County for driving his van into a crowd of Latinos protesting an appearance by the head of the Minuteman Project.

march for justice for donovan jackson/stop police brutality! noon, friday, 1/2, century & freeman, inglewood. the re-trial of officer jeremy morse begins monday, 1/5-- tho it's getting no coverage. morse was videotaped last summer beating 16 yr old donovan jackson, who was unarmed, handcuffed & unconscious--and had committed no crime. district atty steve cooley (ex-cop & republican) allowed the defense to remove every black juror, refused to call the videotaping witness to testify, refused to speak on morse's prior abuses, called an 'expert' witness on 'use of force' from w/in the dept, who told the jury he himself had 'done worse', & called no witness at all against morse's partner, who was charged w/ falsifying the report. the jury found 7-5 to convict-- a hung jury & mistrial. community pressure forced a new trial-- but only mass community awareness will keep it honest. we are marching thru inglewood to the d.a.'s office to bring attention to the case. please join us & spread the word! p.s. morse was arrested for driving drunk over thanksgiving in el segundo...
